PA doing amazing work--needs PA Law Modernization to More Effectively Care For Her At Risk Patients
by Paula Havisto, MS, PA-C
The Rural Wisconsin Healthcare Collaborative featured Khou Xiong, PA in October's RWHC Bulletin--see the link below for full story. Khou is a former WAPA Scholarship Winner and really speaks to the need for modernization of PA practice legislation.
WAPA's leadership is working on a comprehensive effort to encourage Wisconsin to adopt AAPA Model State Legislation, which incorporates modernized language that aligns with AAPA policies. For example, the term "supervision" has been universally replaced with the term "collaboration", and the document now references "PAs" instead of "physician assistants".
