Legislators asked to Support WAPA Bill
1/23/2012
WAPA has been working with legislative leaders to introduce a bill that would expand PA privileges in the state. The changes included in the bill would allow physician assistants to order physical therapy services, patient restraints, home health services, and include physician assistants as recognized providers who can complete a DMV Medical Examination Report.
The bill is authored by Representative Warren Petryk (R-Eleva). The bill is being shared with his legislative colleagues the week of January 23. He is asking them to sign onto the bill as co-sponsors. It is very important for you as constituents to contact your legislators and also ask them to support the bill by signing on as a co-sponsor. Legislators want to know that constituents care about legislation they are being asked to support - the more calls we can generate to each office from constituents, the greater the chance an individual legislator will co-sponsor the bill. The more co-sponsors we are able to generate, the greater our chances of success.
