The Medical College of Wisconsin is accepting applications
for post graduate surgical training for the academic year
2008-2009. The nature of this program is to provide additional
exposure to physician assistants and provide in-depth specialized
training in surgery. This program would also provide additional
coverage to training services in view of the new 80-hour
workweek for surgical residents. The mission of the program
is to provide a comprehensive program to train the Post
Graduate Surgical Physician Assistant by preparing to practice
in a variety of surgical settings and specialties. Training
will be provided in a supportive academic environment with
emphasis on clinical experience and team cooperation. Program
objectives will be achieved through structured didactic
learning, supervised clinical training, and mentoring. A
certificate of completion will be awarded from the Medical
College of Wisconsin Department of Surgery. The time line
for potential applicants:
