Interested in serving as a WAPA leader? Nominations are now open for positions on the 2018-19 Board of Directors. Complete the form below to submit your nomination. Requirements - 
Candidates must: 1) be a member of WAPA; 2) be a member of AAPA to run for President Elect or AAPA HOD Representative (because WAPA is a constituent of AAPA); 3) commit to participating in a minimum of three Board meetings during the year; and 4) have read and understand the responsibilities of the role as outlined in WAPA's Bylaws/Policies & Procedures Manual


Timeline:

-Nominations open through January 22
-Ballot finalized by February 22
-Online voting opens 30 days prior to Annual Membership Meeting
-Election results finalized and reported at Annual Meeting on March 22


OPEN POSITIONS

President-Elect: An officer elected by the membership who is a member in good standing of the AAPA and WAPA. Responsibilities include:

  • Attend ¾ of all officially designated Board and Academy business meetings or risk forfeiture of office. The President-Elect is a voting member or the Board
  • Uphold the Responsibilities of a Board member as outlined in the Academy Bylaws
  • Succeed to the presidency at the conclusion of the first elected year
  • Assume the duties of the President in his/her absence
  • Serve on Nominating & Elections Committee
  • Serve as a delegate to the AAPA House of Delegates
  • Serve as a member of the WAPA Executive committee

Secretary-Treasurer: An officer elected by the membership who is a member in good standing of the AAPA and WAPA. Responsibilities include:

  • Attend ¾ of all officially designated Board and Academy business meetings or risk forfeiture of office. The Secretary-Treasurer is a voting member or the Board
  • Uphold the Responsibilities of a Board member as outlined in the Academy Bylaws
  • Maintain WAPA's financial and meeting records. 
  • Serve as a member of the WAPA Executive committee

Regional Directors-at-Large: Regional Directors-at-Large are elected by the WAPA membership. Each Regional rep must be a member in good standing of WAPA, and shall be elected to hold office for two (2) years. Regional reps are limited to two consecutive full terms of office. Responsibilities include:

  • Attend ¾ of all officially designated Board and Academy business meetings or risk forfeiture of office
  • Uphold the Responsibilities of a Board member as outlined in the Academy Bylaws
  • Coordinate/host a minimum of two (2) meetings a year in respective region, for educational or networking purposes
  • Distribute information to members in the respective region through email/website postings
  • Promote participation in WAPA activities by members in region
  • Review and update regional membership list from WAPA office
  • Provide regional updates and perspective to other WAPA leaders for planning purposes
  • Serve on a committee or other duties as directed by the President

Delegates to AAPA: WAPA Delegates will represent WAPA at the 2019 AAPA House of Delegates meeting. The primary responsibility is to represent the interests of all PAs in Wisconsin as the House of Delegates develops policies impacting PAs.
