DHS publishes new scope statement for PAs with addiction training

WI Department of Health Services is discussing amendments related to substance abuse disorder treatment services. This discussion is occurring in part because of WAPA Advocacy Committee efforts. More information about the discussion is below:

Rule Summary: 

These amendments would allow Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners (APNPs) or Physician Assistants (PAs) with specialized addiction training to approve assessments, such as treatment plans and discharge summaries, under certain circumstances. The amendments make other changes as well.
